Netto Food Store

Sector: Commercial / Industrial

Project: Custom built commercial structure

Contract Type: Negotiated tender

Location: Cannock, Staffordshire

Architect: James Crosbie Associates

Team:P.J. Spillings, James Crosbie Associates, CPLC Associates Ltd

Before work began on this project the site had to be cleared of all vacant buildings. This involved the demolition of an existing retail store. Once complete, our team began the construction of a new 1,085m² Netto Foodstore.

The programme of works comprised of the installation of retaining walls to the rear of the site, drainage services, car parking facilities, a service yard, landscaping and highway works.

P.J Spillings worked to a tight schedule in challenging conditions, such as restricted access and the site being founded on historic mining grounds. Despite various setbacks, the contract was completed to the client’s specification, on time and to budget. This was achieved through regular communication between the construction workforce, design team and client. This project builds on our successful 10 year affiliation with Netto Foodstores.

We have worked with P J Spillings for over 15 years. Although construction work by its very nature has associated problems, anything that’s cropped up has always been dealt with, quickly and cost effectively. I would happily recommend them to anybody.
