Project: Joinery solutions for leading Dogs Trust centre

Sector: Commercial

Project Team: Kier Southern, Forum Architects.

Purpose of the project:

Equip flagship Dogs Trust centre in West London with practical joinery solutions.

Overview:

The Dogs Trust Highway Farm has the best of modern technology integrated into its 17th
Century buildings. This flagship rehoming centre is one of 17 across the UK, and is capable
of housing up to 140 dogs.

To secure planning consent for the site the charity were required to restore the existing
Grade II listed oak-framed barn. This stunning building now provides a functional space for
lectures and meetings, and is an integral part of the facilities.

The upgraded centre has 75 kennels with underfloor heating and glass fronts which help
keep noise levels to a minimum. Visitors are able to interact with the dogs through specially
positioned ‘sniffer holes’.

Items supplied and fitted include:

  • European oak external windows and doors
  • European oak internal stairs
  • Reception desk
  • ‘Dog bone’ door sets
